Let us be your community Farmers!

Using sustainable, regenerative farming practices, members in our community are able to enjoy our certified organic produce year-round! Our members love the feeling of knowing that their food is grown by members of their community, and that they can trust in the positive  ecological and human impact that their farm has.

What's Inside?

'Community Supported Agriculture' is based in the concept of mutually shared abundance. This means that at the beginning of the season a member buys a 'share' in our yearly production which secures them fresh, organic vegetables each week and also allows us as farmers to have reliable income in order to focus on doing what we love (growing food!).

All of our shares are available 'Market-style', which means that members have options to stock up on the vegetables that they love, and leave behind the ones that they don't. Each week members will find some options availible 'free choice', so they choose how much to take home! Cooking greens, salad mixes and herbs are always free choice, plus items which we have a lot of (zucchini is a good example!)

Our CSA baskets are filled with all of the highest quality, just-harvested produce that each season has to offer. We harvest fresh vegetables from May to February and grow everything from Arugula to Zucchini.

Spring baskets contain the first fresh greens and tender roots coming from our unheated tunnels. Summer shares bring vine-ripe tomatoes, crisp cucumbers and the sweetest melons. Shares in Autumn showcase our frost sweetened carrots, colourful squash and hearty tubers. And finally, in Winter we fill our root cellar with the rich, sustaining food that lasts until Spring- potatoes, beets, cabbages, garlic, leeks and so, so much more!

Wonderful organic family farm who care deeply about growing healthy food that supports the Outaouais region and our local food sovereignty. We are so lucky that Ferme Pleine Lune feeds our family and many in our community of Wakefield!

These are professionals who deliver fresh foods directly to you at a price and quality that cannot be matched in any grocery store.  It's the best part of farm-direct foods.  It's fresh and tastes amazing. The only thing they don't supply are pesticides. You have to go to the grocery store for that.

FAQs

Sprouting answers to your common questions.

How does weekly ordering & pickup work?

We'll text you each week before we harvest, and you'll have until that week's cutoff time (48 hours before pickup or delivery) to add extras to your order, or to notify us if you need to skip the week's share.

And speaking of skip...

What happens if I go on vacation/need to skip a week?

While we’d never advise skipping your veggies, we understand that life gets busy! If you cannot pickup your share, you can choose to double up on a future order, or have us donate it on your behalf. You can also switch locations if needed, or skip the order for future credit. All you have to do is send a text message and it's taken care of.

Can I add on extras?

Absolutely! You can choose to add on extra veggies each week or opt in for a regular add-on. Members have exclusive access to our add-on shop, where they can get regular deliveries of bread, eggs, mushrooms and coffee.

Do I need to bring anything to pickup?

Please bring your own reusable bags or boxes to collect your share.

What am I committing to at sign up?

Your membership is a commitment to accept some risk in the yearly vegetable availability, understanding that each season is unique and that agriculture is highly variable due to weather and climate fluctuations. Other than that, your membership is an opportunity to learn to love your veggies, and be open to trying a few new ones!

If I forget to pick-up, what happens to my share?

If you forget to pick your basket up, your veggies will be donated. All excess produce is donated weekly to Le Grenier Des Collines.

If I have excess credit, what happens to it?

You are encouraged to book double shares or add additional veggies to your baskets with your credit. if you have credit still at the end of the season, it can be applied to future shares.

Do you offer home delivery?

We only offer home delivery in the Winter season (November to February), in select areas.

What types of support do you give members who aren't yet accustomed to eating with the seasons?

We offer a weekly newsletter with recipes and tips about how to use your share. We also have a "CSA Success" Library where you can dive in further to expand you knowledge and increase your confidence in the kitchen!

What is the difference between a regular and a large share?

A regular share is good for folks who cook 4-6 meals at home each week. It is suitable for singles or couples, or families who do not cook at home as much. A large share is a good choice for families or couples who eat a veggie heavy diet and for those who cook all meals at home.  It contains 50% more than the regular share, and gives a little more choice.

What's in a typical box?

Each delivery contains a variety of just-picked, in season produce. We strive to include as many favorites as possible and a few interested items. You can expect to receive 8-12 items in the Regular Share  and 10-14 items in the Large share.

Are the boxes customizable?

We do not offer customization at this time but because our pick-ups are 'market style', members are able to choose more of the items they prefer and leave the ones they don't. Members are always welcome to add aditional items to their shares, which are availible on our shop at a 10% discount.

What are 'free choice' items?

We always offer a few items each week that are 'Free Choice'. This means that the member can take as much as they need of those items. Herbs, greens, and salads are usually free choice, plus the things we have in overabundance!
