Our Summer CSA Share
Our summer C.S.A share consists of 18 baskets of fresh, nutritious, certified organic vegetables delivered all summer to a convenient, central pick-up location. We offer shares in Ottawa (Hintonburg), Aylmer and right here at the farm (Bristol, QC).
Each week you will receive a variety of greens, vegetables, and herbs most of which you will recognize and a few that may be new and interesting! You will be sent a weekly newsletter that will give you notice of what to expect in your basket, recipes, ideas and farm updates!
Our basket pick-ups are all set up 'market style'. This means that you get to choose from the variety of produce available; take every item, leave some behind or swap one you dislike for a favorite! This style of delivery allows each member to curate their own basket, and ensures that nobody takes items that will eventually end up in the compost. We offer some of our items 'free choice', when they are in abundant supply. This means that you get to choose how much you would like to take for your weekly amount.
Each week you can expect from 7 to 12 different items, depending on the time of year. Baskets tend to have fewer items for the first 4 to 6 weeks, and then really bulk up once the summer heat sets in. Each basket is valued at $35.00 based on our market prices. One of the benefits of becoming a member is that not only do we reserve our very best produce for you, but we also include an average of 10-20% more in value as a 'Thank You' for your commitment.
We have three sizes of shares to choose from; small, regular and large. Our regular share should be enough for a family of two adults and two children, who eat a moderate diet, or two veggie-hungry adults. Our small share is a regular sized basket picked up bi-weekly. Our large share includes 40-50% more than the regular share and should suit a family of four with a strong appetite for veggies. Large shares are also good for vegans, raw foodists and juicers.
