Farmer-Member Agreement

As a CSA farm, we have a very unique relationship with our customers. We sell 'shares' in our yearly harvest which allows us to cover the costs of our production at the beginning of the season and guarantees our members a variety of just-picked, certified organic vegetables each week. As co-participants in this form of agriculture the farmer and member support one another in their unique but equally beneficial contributions!
Our responsibilities as your farmers are as follows:

To grow all food in accordance with the Canadian Organic Regime and steward the land with a focus on ecological welfare, biodiversity, soil and water conservation and human/animal health. We maintain our organic certification and are inspected yearly by EcoCert Canada.

To give back to the soil at least as much as we take and to moderate our practices in order to reduce our impact on the climate.

To strive to grow a diversity of traditional and unique vegetables and to do everything within reason to have an abundant harvest.

To start the CSA deliveries by no later than November 7th (barring major weather or environmental impediment)

To put our members shares in top priority and guarantee a minimum of 7 items in each share

To harvest, wash, store and deliver produce in such a way as to maintain quality and extend shelf-life .

To deliver the Bi-weekly basket on time each week throughout the Winter season and to inform members of any delivery changes with ample notice.

To supply the member with a newsletter each delivery week which will advise them on how to use their produce and inform them of farm news.

To respond to emails and feedback in a timely manner and take feedback into consideration in future planning.

To treat all members equally and with respect regardless of their various identities or circumstances.
·
Your responsibilities as members are as follows:
To accept some risk in the seasonal vegetable availability, understanding that each season is unique and that agriculture is highly variable due to weather and climate fluctuations, and that is is especially true in Winter!

To pay the $200.00 deposit at time of sign up and the remaining share balance by October 1st.

To leave an insulated cooler at your doorstep on each delivery day, or else be present to receive your share.

To inform us with at least 24 hours notice if you need to reschedule your delivery day

To learn to love your veggies and be open to trying a few new ones.
